After the time of slavery, Africans and Europeans started working together. They began creating havens for the freed slaves.With the end of World War Two, Africa really started struggling to become free. For some countries, it took many many years. This process had lots of fights, and to say the least, it wasn't even close to easy. There were quite a few liberation movements that helped out with some of Africa's independence. These include the Popular Movement for the Independence of Angola in 1976, African Party for the Independence of Guinea and Cape Verde and Front for the Liberation of Mozambique in 1975, South West Africa People's Organization in 1990, and many more. Those three are just naming a few of many. Nelson Mandela played a huge role in the independence of South Africa; he essentially led his people to freedom.
